Days 28 – 29 Going to ABC again – and higher
(from Grant’s SMSs through Thuraya – summarised by David Lim)
Hi, moved up from IC from Basecamp yesterday. Feeling strong and hope this feeling stays. Today I’m moving to ABC at 6400m, and hope to then push up to NOrth Col. Then back to ABC for some rest and then up again to North Col for the final pre-summit acclimatisation cycle. The slightest recurrence of HAPE, and I shall be running back to basecamp and to Singapore.

Hey Grant,
You already banged heads with HAPE. Take your time going up the mountain. Don’t push too hard / too fast.

Axe u are a legend in NZ bro! Stuff.co.nz has re-printed something out of the Dominion Post in Wgtn, a story written by a writer that used your blog-post as the basis of the item. It’s gone viral bro!! They even used the photo of u bent over your poles – http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/4981006/Kiwi-risks-death-to-fulfil-Everest-dream
I echo everyone’s sentiment bro, give it a crack, many wouldn’t have gone back up there I know it but if it doesn’t work a second time at least u did give it ur best shot! Go strong man
